Hey Manager, how do you create trust within your team? It’s the question of every manager or leader, how do I ensure that my team works together as well as possible? And how do I motivate everyone?

As a manager or leader, it is essential to have insight into what motivates a team or a person. You gain this insight by having knowledge of drives. With this knowledge and insight, you can better motivate people and increase trust within your team. Below are six tips to create trust and better motivate people.

Trust is created by:

  1. Provide new insights and offer freedom (yellow)

Ensure that matters are substantively correct and well thought out. People with a lot of yellow want to analyze, understand, and comprehend issues. As a leader, you provide freedom in thinking and doing and come up with new insights.

  1. Behave equitably and listen sincerely (green)

Ensure that there is a lot of attention to feelings and people. People with a lot of green find it important that people are treated equally and that social connections and people come first. As a leader, you ensure that you listen sincerely and have attention for the feelings of individuals.

  1. Be successful and share that (orange)

Make sure you take on challenges and are focused on opportunities and possibilities. People with a lot of orange want progress, results, and to show performance. As a leader, you provide opportunities, give people visible appreciation, and take them seriously.

  1. Provide clarity and be reliable (blue)

Ensure that there are clear agreements and that these are adhered to. People with a lot of blue want to create certainty and clarity. You, as a leader, ensure that you keep agreements and provide justice.

  1. Stand firm, show courage and daring (red)

Make sure you lead people with strength and respect. People with a lot of red stand for courage, pace, and strength. You, as a leader, ensure that you are decisive, show courage, and stand your ground.

  1. Know your natural place and have a sense of the past (purple)

Ensure that you have a feel for natural relationships and the power of the past. People with a lot of purple want to create bonding and safety. Position yourself as a leader to be serviceable and ensure pride, safety, and bonding.
